The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Bioprocessing Equipment Division (ASME BPE) documents the requirements for the construction of equipment used in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The current revision of the ASME BPE expands the specifications to include the special requirements of single-use processes. This creates the prerequisites for ASME BPE certification for critical equipment parts such as seals and diaphragm valves.
